We’ve seen an up-tick in interest in our work lately, and if you have recently attended one of our meetings or have thought about attending one of our meetings, we’d like to encourage you to join one of our committees. These committees are where we organize and implement the actions we discuss at the public meetings. The current committees are as follows.
- Programs Committee, headed by President Diannia Merriett (). In this committee, we plan events and workshops around inclusion and diversity. We partner with local groups to make Greendale a welcoming community. We will meet next on March 9th at 6:30 pm on Zoom.
- Policies Committee, headed by longtime member Lara Miller (). On this committee, we review Greendale School District and Greendale Village policies with a lens of equity. If new policies need to be created, we collaborate with the School Board and Village officials to try to bring positive changes in our systems, practices, and policies. This committee meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 7-8 pm.
- Outreach Committee, headed by secretary Heather Godley (). In this committee, we help communicate PAGE’s work with the community through social media, newsletters, and press releases. This committee meets the 4th Monday of every month from 5-6 pm.
- Housing Committee, also headed by secretary Heather Godley (). In this committee, we seek to find ways to decrease the legacy of residential segregation.
The committees report at every meeting, so if you’d like to see what that looks like prior to joining a committee, we hope you’ll join us next month for our meeting on March 8, or feel free to reach out between times and we’ll get you connected.
